Biden Tries to Sell America a Bill of Goods About Those ‘Mostly Peaceful’ Protests

As we reported earlier, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris weighed in with remarks on the verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin.

Chauvin was found guilty on all three counts in the death of George Floyd.

Biden and Harris used the moment to slam America for “systemic racism.”

“America has a long history of systemic racism,” Harris declared. “It ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism,” Biden said. “Systemic racism–a stain on our nation’s soul.”

So, a few points: Did they actually provide any evidence of racism in the case? It seems it’s simply assumed because Chauvin is white and Floyd was black. Moreover, that term — “systemic racism.” It doesn’t just mean random incidents of racism. It doesn’t even mean a lot of racism.

It means racism is formally built into the system. To the contrary, racism is outlawed in a variety of ways, throughout the system. Now, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t racist people or racist actions. But the system condemns it. And if they think the system is racist, does that mean the Biden/Harris regime is running the racist system now? Harris talked about this verdict bringing things a step closer to “equal justice.”

But there is equal justice according to the law. Now. Without any Democratic bills. Now, again, that doesn’t mean that in every case it’s correctly applied. If it isn’t, we should call out the problems. It doesn’t mean you can’t take measures to make things better. Maybe people would have taken Democrats seriously if they had cared to pass Sen. Tim Scott’s police reform bill.

But it’s a lie to say there isn’t equal justice according to the law. These comments continue this effort at division that Democrats are constantly pushing. That’s how you get folks believing the crazy things I wrote about earlier today in the interview with Ami Horowitz, protesters thinking that thousands of unarmed black people are being killed in a genocide now across the country by the police, and that most of the country is white supremacist.

Biden further said something else that defied belief.

From Fox News:

“The knee on the neck of justice for Black Americans–profound fear and trauma, the pain, exhaustion that Black and Brown Americans experience every single day,” Biden said. “The murder of George Floyd launched a summer of protest we hadn’t seen since the Civil Rights in the 60s.”

Biden said that the protests “unified people of every race and generation in peace and with purpose to say enough, enough, enough of this senseless killings.”

Wow, how many ways is that so totally wrong? He insults civil rights activists by comparing them to the radical leftists pushing communistic thought that we have today behind a lot of the BLM/Antifa actions. Civil rights activism in the 60s was marked by non-resistant, peaceful action. That is in no way like the violent action we have seen over the past year from BLM and Antifa rioters.

But maybe the biggest whopper in there is about the nature of the “summer of protest.” First, the protests were heaviest during the summer of last year, but they have continued since last May in a variety of places.

That’s a pretty long “summer,” in some places. It reflects Biden’s lack of understanding of the facts. But even more than that, how dare he claim it was “unifying people of every race and generation in peace and with purpose?” It was hundreds of violent riots, with millions in damage, destroying countless homes and businesses. Hundreds of police were injured.

Many people were killed, including many black people. Suggesting this was all just a delightful unifying “summer of love” is denying that their black lives matter. It’s denying the reality of their deaths. Biden denied this reality for a long time, he’s still denying it and he’s never condemned the people behind it by name, just spoken randomly about “violence” or “extremists.”
