The 61-year-old actor was chatting at the premiere of his latest film F1 when he dropped the exciting update. Speaking to E! News on Monday, 9 June, Pitt seemed genuinely open to sharing the screen with Cruise once more, although with one very specific condition.
“I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and [explicit] like that, so when he does something again that’s on the ground,” Pitt joked, making it crystal clear he’s not exactly up for Cruise-style death-defying stunts. Let’s face it, we’ve all seen Tom Cruise clinging to aircrafts and doing mind-blowing scenes in Mission: Impossible and Top Gun, but Pitt’s more into staying firmly planted on solid ground.
Even so, fans are now daydreaming about what a Brad and Tom reunion could look like, as it seems both stars are feeling the mutual admiration lately. Cruise recently showed some major love for Pitt’s new film F1, which has already gained attention online thanks to a clip of Cruise calling it a “fun movie” going viral. That kind of public praise hasn’t gone unnoticed, and Pitt was clearly touched when asked how he felt about it.
“It’s so sweet, you know. He’s sweet. Yeah, we did have our go-kart days back in the ‘90s, early ‘90s,” Pitt said with a nostalgic smile. That little comment took fans right back to the golden era when the two megastars were not only ruling Hollywood but also apparently racing each other in go-karts for fun.
And of course, the big question had to be asked. Who was faster behind the wheel back then? Pitt didn’t hold back and gave Cruise the win. “He got me in the end, I got to tell you. I gotta admit,” he said, sounding both amused and impressed, reported US Weekly.
There’s something refreshing about hearing two of Hollywood’s biggest legends speaking so fondly and casually about each other, especially considering past rumours that their working relationship on Interview With the Vampire wasn’t always the smoothest. But if there was ever tension, it sounds long gone now.
Pitt’s latest film F1, which has him diving into the high-octane world of Formula One racing, is already generating buzz — and with Cruise backing it, that momentum is only growing. Whether or not this leads to the pair actually reuniting on screen, the excitement is real.
Fans are now hoping that if Cruise ever decides to trade his plane-hopping for something a bit more grounded, maybe with some go-kart nostalgia thrown in, Pitt will be right there to join him. After all, if there’s one thing Hollywood needs more of, it’s the Brad and Tom energy we haven’t seen together in decades.
