“I can’t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn’t boozing or had a spliff or something. And you realize that a lot of it is, um – cigarettes, you know, pacifiers. And I’m running from feelings. I’m really, really happy to be done with all of that,” he said.
During his interview with the New York Times, the “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” star admitted that after his divorce from Jolie, he gathered up the courage to attend AA meetings. It was also during this time that Pitt got rid of his drinking privileges and he has been sober ever since.
Previous reports revealed that Pitt got into an altercation with his eldest son, Maddox, while he was heavily intoxicated. The incident encouraged Jolie to file from divorce from Pitt. Since then, the couple still hasn’t patched things up.
In fact, Jolie just requested for a child custody reevaluation to make sure that Pitt is suited to take care of their six children.
Meanwhile, Pitt also made headlines this week after it was claimed that he almost got back together with Jennifer Aniston after having an affair with Jolie. During a previous interview, Pitt’s grandmother, Betty Russell predicted that the former couple would get back together because Pitt and Jolie’s relationship isn’t meant to last.
“I’m sure this is just a temporary thing. Brad and Jennifer are beautiful people. They’ve always been so happy. They are both precious and have too much love to throw it all away. They just need to spend a little time apart before they realize how much they miss each other. I’m praying for it,” she said.
Unfortunately, Russell’s prayers have not been heard because Pitt and Aniston never got back together.
