On Friday, Spears logged onto her Instagram to answer several questions from fans. She captioned the post with “As @shaniatwain says best … let’s GO GIRLS !!!!”
While the video consisted of several questions, the query of whether or not she will ever take the stage again stood out.
The 39-year-old Toxic singer began the video by mentioning how most fans want to know about her favorite business trip.
“My favorite business trip was probably a trip to Italy,” Spears said, before saying that Donatella Versace took her there. “It was beautiful. She fined and dined us.”
The questions about her shoe size then followed before the third and final question appeared. Her fans asked the singer whether she is ready to step on stage again.
According to Spears, she currently has no idea whether or not she will perform again. She then reasoned out that she is having fun right now. Thus, she wants to enjoy herself while enjoying her life.
What Spears previously said about performing
Prior to her recent Instagram Live, Britney Spears already said something about performing again.
Last year, the singer’s lawyer told the court that she is afraid of her father. In November 2020, Los Angeles superior court judge Brenda Penny refused to remove Jamie Spears from his role on Spears’ conservatorship.
For what it’s worth, he has been controlling her life and career for over 12 years.
“My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father,” Spears’ attorney Samuel D Ingham III said. “She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.”
The singer decided to go on hiatus in 2019. Meanwhile, Jamie’s attorney Vivian Lee Thoreen defended the client. Per Thoreen, Jamie established a perfect record in his stint as the conservator. She added that Spears could have been in great debt to over $60 million if it wasn’t for him.
The representative added that Ingham released hearsay statements about the father-daughter relationship. While the judge did not approve his removal, Judge Penny approved Bessemer Trust as co-conservator over Spears’ estate.
Britney Spears’ conservatorship started in 2008 when the singer began struggling with her mental health. From there, her father took over her career and life until now.
