This Huge Secret About Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan’s Divorce Just Got Out—Yikes!

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are still working out their divorce. That is, the former couple is still finalizing the financial terms of their split, despite the fact that the divorce was finalized in November 2019.

According to E! News, Tatum’s legal team had asked a judge to set a date for a trial over support on Friday, April 23. This proposed trial would last an estimated five days.

The media outlet reports that Tatum’s trial request pertains to financial issues over “dissolution, child support, spousal support, attorney fees, division of some property, and reimbursements and credits.”

Tatum and Dewan first split in April 2018 after eight years of marriage and one child together. The pair wed in 2009 after meeting on the set of Step Up in 2006.

They welcomed daughter Everly in 2013. They officially filed for divorce in October 2018, and throughout the process, the pair has seemed amiable towards one another.

In a joint statement issued in 2018, Tatum and Dewan wrote, “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”

Despite the fact that the divorcees seem to be fighting over money at the moment, the two have always appeared to get along as friends and co-parents following the split.

A source close to Tatum told Elle in February 2020, “Jenna has a special place in [Channing’s] heart since she is the mother of their child, but they have both moved on and are happy in their new relationships. Channing’s main priority and concern is his daughter, and him and Jenna are both happy to have worked out a co-parenting agreement.”

The two apparently remain friends, and Tatum has said he is happy for Dewan’s new relationship, according to the source.

Dewan is currently engaged to actor Steve Kazee, with whom she shares one-year-old son Callum. She recently shared a sweet family pic of herself alongside both Callum and Everly in honor of Mother’s Day, writing, “Of all of the gifts life has to offer, being your mama is the greatest of them all. The purest of love!! I will forever be in awe that you both chose me.”

On the other hand, Tatum seems to have moved on following the divorce as well. He was on-again-off-again with British singer Jessie J between 2018 and 2020 before breaking up for good, though now he is reportedly single.

It looks like Tatum’s main focus as of late has been daughter Everly. He recently wrote a children’s book, The One and Only Sparkella, inspired by Everly. “When I became a single father, I had a lot of fear about connecting to Everly in every way that a little girl might want. I didn’t wear nail polish or know how to braid hair. But now I do both,” Tatum revealed to Parents.
