British model turned pop singer Cheryl Cole is replaced as a judge on the US version of the X-Factor by ‘Pussycat Dolls’ beauty Nicole Scherzinger, who was originally supposed to co-host the show with Steve Jones.
Cole, whose participation as a US X-Factor judge was confirmed three weeks ago, is dropped from the judging panel because of her strong British English accent that would be too difficult for American audience to understand.
The 27-year-old Cole was handpicked by Simon Cowell saying that she could be the next big British star to break America. However, Cheryl will come back to her role as a judge on the UK version of the show.
The US edition of Simon Cowell‘s massively successful music competition franchise is set to debut in the US on FOX in September.
