On Monday, August 9, Copenhagen Fashion Week is set to launch a brand new mobile ap-plication in collaboration with Samsung, bringing fashion week directly to your mobile phone to let you stay updated on this fashion week’s runway shows and events. The application will service professional attendees, including buyers, exhibitors and press, and also fashion-conscious people who want to take part in the numerous open events of Copenhagen Fash-ion Festival. With constant uploads of runway videos and photos, everyone will be granted a front-row view when Copenhagen Fashion Week opens its doors on Wednesday, August 11, 2010.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is the first fashion week in the world to launch a mobile phone ap-plication. It is a collaboration with Samsung and Galaxy S, Samsung’s newest Android phone. Head of Samsung Denmark, Solvej Lee, explains: ”Samsung is a technological frontrunner, giving us a natural reason to work with Copenhagen Fashion Week, which shows the latest tendencies to hit the fashion runways. Galaxy S has a four-inch screen, making it the optimal phone for displaying the freshest looks of the season.”
The application will give professional fashion week attendees access to the show and event schedules, an overview on fashion fairs and showrooms, and pictures and videos from the runways. Anne Christine Persson, the Manager of Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, adds: ”The application functions as a useful tool for the more than 50,000 visitors who need to navigate their way through fashion week. And if you miss a show, you can always view it on the appli-cation afterwards – plus you get all the crucial locations and addresses gathered conveniently in one place.”
