Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyers call for a mistrial again as they claim to the judge that Cassie’s testimony was false

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed for a mistrial in his federal sex trafficking case, accusing prosecutors of presenting misleading testimony from his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura.

This marks the second such request in recent weeks, following a denied motion tied to Kid Cudi’s testimony. The latest dispute centers on claims by Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, a friend of Ventura, who testified June 4 that Combs dangled her over a balcony during a 2016 altercation.

Bongolan alleged Combs stormed into Ventura’s Los Angeles apartment, grabbed her from behind, and held her over a railing while yelling, “You know what the f** you did.”* She said he then threw her onto patio furniture.

Contradictions in Testimony

Combs’ legal team contends Ventura’s testimony conflicts with a text message she allegedly sent at the time, which read, “I just found out some crazy s**,”* suggesting she did not witness the incident firsthand. Defense attorneys also claim photo evidence places Combs outside Los Angeles when the altercation allegedly occurred.

The defense argues these inconsistencies taint the prosecution’s case, warranting a mistrial. However, Judge Katharine Parker has yet to rule on the motion.

Legal Battles Mount

Bongolan previously sued Combs over the balcony incident, though he denied the allegations. The hip-hop mogul now faces multiple federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

This latest motion follows a pattern of aggressive defense tactics, including a prior mistrial request over testimony involving rapper Kid Cudi. Legal analysts suggest the repeated motions could signal a strategy to delay proceedings or undermine witness credibility.

Combs’ trial continues as prosecutors prepare their rebuttal to the defense’s claims. If denied, the case will proceed with further witness testimonies, including potential new revelations from Ventura.
