According to National Enquirer, Ellen DeGeneres decided that she wanted to have a baby to bond with while she was recovering from COVID-19.
Following her diagnosis, the comedian, allegedly, kept fighting with de Rossi nonstop.

The couple’s feud, allegedly, became so intense that DeGeneres thought having a baby is the only thing that could solve their problems.
“Things really came to a head when Ellen was trapped in the house after receiving a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. It was hell at home for Portia. Ellen was blasting her about anything and everything, from her public problems to whether dinner was hot and on time,” the source said.
At one point, de Rossi, allegedly, told her wife that she’s not her punching bag. And DeGeneres realized just how mean she has been towards the Scandal star.
Ellen DeGeneres thinks surrogacy can help her marital problems
According to the source, this is when DeGeneres cooked up the concept of having a baby via surrogate.
“Ellen is convinced that sharing a child will bring them closer together again and is willing to go the surrogate route to make it happen. She also believes bringing a baby into her life will improve her image. It’s a can’t-lose scenario in her mind,” the source said.
Ellen and Portia don’t have any plans to have kids
But regardless of what the tabloids say, there’s no way that Ellen DeGeneres and de Rossi to ever have a child.
During their separate interviews, they both revealed that they’re not interested in becoming moms.
“I think I would [like to have kids], but that’s not enough to have a kid. It seems long term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with,” DeGeneres told the Today Show.
As for de Rossi, the Ally McBeal alum said that she never thought of having children. In fact, she was never pressured by the thought that she still didn’t have kids when she was in her 30s.
“There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, ‘Am I going to have kids so I don’t miss out on something that other people really seem to love? Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart?’ I didn’t feel that my response was ‘yes’ to the latter,” she told Out.
Ellen DeGeneres and de Rossi’s separate responses about having kids prove that the tabloid’s claims are incorrect.
