Ellen DeGeneres set the record straight about having babies
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been married for over 10 years already. All those years, there were various speculations that Portia didn’t want kids. Meanwhile, other sources alleged it was Ellen who didn’t want children.
In DeGeneres’ book 2011 book Seriously … I’m Kidding, the comedian talked about the matter. “People are constantly asking Portia and me if we are going to have children, we thought about it,” DeGeneres wrote.
“We love to be around children after they’ve been fed and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don’t want children of our own. There is far too much glass in our house.”

A source close to the couple also said that Portia de Rossi agreed with Ellen DeGeneres about the issue. Both don’t want kids and are satisfied with each other’s company.
“Ellen and Portia have three little ones already — their dogs, Kid, Augie and Wolf. They don’t want to have actual children and Portia told Ellen that, even if she did, they are too old at this point anyways,” a source close to the couple said.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi think alike. Thus, the issue of having kids or not is something that they have already talked about.
In 2015, The Ellen DeGeneres Show host told Howard Stern that she and Portia don’t fight. She added that they were madly in love and compatible. “We think the same things. We are so similar and yet we’re different enough,” DeGeneres said.
However, in 2017, Life & Style claimed that Ellen and Portia were fighting “more than ever.” The couple couldn’t leave their personal issues behind that the studio crew allegedly overheard them arguing. Despite their fights, they were determined to stick to each other. They agreed to undergo counseling.
“Ellen has been in counseling, both solo and with Portia,” an insider said. “Part of their therapy is to go on more date nights. That’s why they’ve been seen out and about more together lately.”
