Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos both aimed to win NASA’s “yes” when they competed to be the company to build a moon lander for the Artemis moon program. Musk is the CEO of SpaceX, while Bezos is behind Jeff’s Blue Origin company. In the end, Musk beat Bezos, and he seemingly mocked the world’s wealthiest man on Twitter.
Elon Musk beats Jeff Bezos in bidding war
Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos both aimed to win NASA’s $2.9 billion contract to build a moon lander for the Artemis program. The project aims to send 18 astronauts to make missions to the mood.
Musk won the bid. However, Bezo’s Blue Origin company is trying to appeal by filing a 50-page protest with the federal Government Accountability Office on April 6, The New York reported.

Elon trolls Jeff on Twitter
When Elon Musk learned about the protest from Jeff Bezo’s end, he put on his trolling hat at the expense of Bezo’s loss. Musk, who came second to Bezos in the list of the richest people in the world, seemingly mocked the latter.
“Can’t get it up (to orbit) lol,” he commented on a post on Twitter about the protest.
Elon’s tweet was a jab at Bezo’s company who has yet to reach orbit since it started in 2000, Hollywood Life reported. Meanwhile, Musk’s SpaceX launched four astronauts for NASA on its Crew Dragon capsule on April 23, and the crew docked with the International Space Station on April 24. SpaceX launched its first astronauts into orbit in May 2020.
Musk went further by sharing a screenshot of an old article from the New York Times about the Amazon founder hosting an event to unveil the Blue Origin’s vision for space and a moon lander, the latter of which he just won in recent bidding.
Twitter reacts to Elon’s post
Elon Musk’s tweet about the bidding, which many took as somewhat of a shade against Jeff Bezos, received mixed responses from the netizens. Many found it hilarious, and they agreed with Musk.
One commented telling Musk, he murdered Bezos in his tweet. Another shaded the Amazon founder saying, “rich men always complain when they don’t win,” referring to Bezos’ protest.
Meanwhile, some sided with Bezos by calling out Musk for his tweet. One said it was not very nice of him to post it.
