According to New Idea, Princess Eugenie isn’t thrilled with Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to announce that they’re expecting baby number two shortly after she gave birth.

The tabloid said that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter hasn’t gotten over how the couple stole the spotlight from her at her royal wedding in 2018.
And now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done the same thing to Princess Eugenie.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry upstaged Princess Eugenie’s wedding
Three years ago, Markle and Prince Harry announced that they’re expecting their first child at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
However, the tabloid’s claims couldn’t possibly be true. After all, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand previously revealed in Finding Freedom that the royal family already knew that Markle was pregnant even before Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
Sussexes not trying to upstage Eugenie
Royal commentator Marlene Koenig also said that Markle doesn’t seem to be trying to upstage Princess Eugenie.
“I don’t think she’s upstaging Eugenie. In 1964, four royal ladies were pregnant and gave [birth] between Feb and May. I don’t think the Queen was upset that her sister gave birth the day before Edward’s baptism,” she said.
Royal author Robert Jobson also said that the criticisms surrounding Prince Harry and Markle have been unfair.
“They chose the time to announce the pregnancy that best suited them and waited until Eugenie’s baby was born. The coverage in my view has been a little mean-spirited,” he told Insider.
The so-called York betrayal
Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie was also indirectly linked to Prince Harry and Markle’s relationship being publicized in 2016.
In Finding Freedom, the authors claimed that the news that the couple was dating came from one of the York family’s staff members.
New Idea went as far as calling this a York betrayal. However, Prince Harry and Markle have never commented on it.
Princess Eugenie has also shied away from commenting about the Sussexes’ relationship. After all, the new mom is busy tending to their first-born son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
