New York-based Argentine designer Gustavo Cadile returned to his alma mater’s city of Miami last week to pick up Fashion Group International’s Fashion Achievement Award, while premiering his spring collection of signature gowns and cocktail dresses.
“It’s sentimental since I began my fashion career volunteering at local fashion shows as a student at Miami International University of Art & Design,” said Cadile, who recently dressed Anjelica Huston and Alison Pill for the Golden Globes.
Launched in 2007, the label was renamed Memeka after the designer’s mother and is carried at specialty stores such as Mark Ingram Atelier in New York, Gus Mayer in Nashville and Barbara Katz in Boca Raton, Fla.
