OLYMPIC CHIC: Giorgio Armani and the Italian National Olympics Committee, or CONI, are continuing their partnership, with the Italian designer supplying the entire sports kit and formalwear ensembles for Italy’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, Armani will outfit the Italian youth teams at the Youth Olympic Games and European Youth Olympic Festivals for the next three years.

Most recently, Armani collaborated with CONI to dress Italian athletes at the 2012 London Games.

“Italy is built on the country’s passion for sport, a pastime that promotes positive values and brings people together,” said Armani, adding that he was pleased to be involved and promised the “utmost support” for Italian athletes.

“Armani is simply the best calling card we could hope to have in order to promote the winning image of Italian sport,” said CONI chairman Giovanni Malagò.

Shoppers in Italy will be able to buy the sporty men’s and women’s looks from the Armani EA7 line, which feature the CONI logo and Olympic rings on the chest, and a silver Italy logo on the back with mountain-shaped letters. Items for sale include a navy-blue ski suit in stretch fabric with heat-sealed seams in the colors of the Italian flag, as well as jackets and sweatshirts with the first verse of the Italian national anthem stitched in gold over the heart, and a full range of accessories.
