Joëlle Grünberg has been named president and CEO of Lacoste’s North American division. Francis Pierrel, that has only quit the company is succeeded by her.
A graduate of ESSEC business school, Grünberg, 44, began her career at Ernst & Young working in the luxury and distribution sector and was elevated to mission director, a job she also offered in 2000 at McKinsey Paris and Deloitte.
In 2003, she was named managing director of Louis Pion-Royal Quartz, which she reorganized within the Galeries Lafayette group, where she worked for seven years.
In 2010, she joined the Célio group to direct its Célio Club brand before joining Lacoste in 2013 as managing director for France.
“Thanks to Thierry Guibert, global ceo of Lacoste, I now have the opportunity to make a personal dream come true. The U.S. subsidiary is very key to the brand and it’s our major market in sales and volume. The U.S. is also a strategic location for the brand visibility and DNA due to René Lacoste’s history here,” she said.
