HEADING TO CHINA: Gucci and Giorgio Armani are planning special events in China this spring. Creative director Frida Giannini will stage Gucci’s first Chinese fashion show on Shanghai’s Bund on April 12. President and chief executive officer, and Giannini’s companion, Patrizio di Marco will also be in attendance. Both Asian and Western models will walk the runway showing Gucci men’s and women’s fall-winter collections. A party will follow the show.
Giorgio Armani is opting for Beijing, where he will hold an event to celebrate his decennial presence in China on May 31. The company declined to provide details, but said the designer will be present at the event.
