Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber have just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The couple has been very open when it comes to their relationship and marriage. However, Selena Gomez seemed to never get away from the picture, at least for fans.
While Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were in New York City for his SNL appearance, the 23-year-old got herself busy. She dropped by celebrity-loved tattoo artist Mr. K to get herself new inks.
After getting her new tattoos, Mr. K shared snaps of them on Instagram. He also explained why she got them.
“J is for @justinbieber and beleza ‘beauty in Portuguese,” the caption read. “It was PLEASURE for your trust on this meaningful piece”
However, fans were not impressed with Hailey Baldwin’s “J” tattoo on her ring finger because it reminded them of the promise ring Justin Bieber gave to his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez in 2012.
In fact, the new tattoo prompted some to criticize Baldwin because she seemed not aware of what she did.
“This woman is crazy, she got the same tattoo as the ring that Justin gave to Selena,” one commented per Page Six.
“That’s the same font that Selena’s J ring had lol,” another added.
“We can’t keep saying it’s a coincidence,” a different user wrote.
In 2012, Selena Gomez shared a snap of a sparkly “J” ring while holding Justin Bieber’s hand. She accompanied it with a short caption that read “I’m finally home :),” E! News reported.
The picture sparked rumors that the two were engaged. Meanwhile, others reported that it was a promise ring or a Valentine’s Day gift.
At the time, Gomez and Bieber’s relationship was going strong. And while her romantic side was going well, she announced at about the same time that she was parting ways with her band.
“Just to clear up my last instagram post, my band and I are going our separate ways for a while,” Gomez wrote on Facebook.
“This year is all about films and acting and I want my band to play music wherever with whoever. We will be back but, it will be a good while. I love them and I love you guys.”
