Even though Prince Harry himself has said that it’s been a “universally tough year” for everyone, the Sussexes seem to be personally on the mend. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal expert and author Katie Nicholl writes in Vanity Fair that while it’s been a big year for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – with Megxit and their grand move to California – there have been some challenges along the way, including their rocky relationship with some of their family members and of course, the global pandemic that has been Covid-19. But luckily, they’ve persisted.
“It’s been a big year for sure and one that has been a rollercoaster,” said a friend of the couple’s. “2020 has seen them leave the royal family, leave Britain and move to LA to their dream home where they are finally able to lay down new roots.”
And much to the relief of everyone involved, Harry’s relationship with his brother Prince William seems to be in a much better place than it was before. The good news is that the brothers are now in regular contact and Harry and Meghan have even bought a Christmas gift for the Cambridge family. “I have no doubt they will be video calling each other over Christmas,” says a source close to the couple.
What’s more, the insider said that Harry and Meghan are most definitely looking forward to a much better year for 2021.
“I think they’re excited and optimistic about 2021 when everything will come to realization,” the source says. “We’ll see the fruits of their labor— Archewell, Netflix. I think it’s the year we will get to see what their legacy will be.”
