Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined the students and teachers of the Preschool Learning Center, a program under the Assistance League of Los Angeles. Together, they spent the morning gardening, learning, and having a lot of fun.
Princess Diana’s favorite flower
Despite helping the kids to replant their learning garden for the upcoming school year, Prince Harry did not forget to honor his mom. He planted Forget-Me-Not seeds, which were Princess Diana’s favorite, with the youngsters.
On the morning of his wedding with Meghan in Mary 2018, he also picked the same flowers to put on his bride’s bouquet, Hello! noted.
The Duke of Sussex and his wife casually dressed for the occasion. They did not forget to wear their masks for a visit, and the kids were wearing their protective face coverings, too.
The group planted a mix of flowers and vegetables, like petunia, California wildflower, tomato, squash, sweet peas, and more.
They also read some fairy tales to the students, like the classic story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
It was not the first time Prince Harry and Meghan volunteered for the Preschool Learning Center.
It was also just a stone away from the former actress’s middle and high school that she attended back then.
The appreciation for Prince Harry, Meghan’s visit
The Assistance League of Los Angeles celebrated Prince Harry and Meghan’s visit to the learning center.
In a post on Instagram, the organization shared some photos of the Sussexes’ fun activity with the kids.
“The children of our Preschool Learning Center got a wonderful surprise when The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited yesterday,” it captioned the snap.
Apart from helping to replant the school’s garden, they willingly spent time with the children.
“[They were] sharing their appreciation for nature and helping to instill the importance of healthy eating,” the post read. “We truly appreciate their time and care for our students.”
The Assistance League of Los Angeles’ mission
The Assistance League of Los Angeles’ mission is to improve the quality of life of the impoverished children in the community. According to E! News, it aims to do its initiative through “philanthropy, dedicated service, and compassionate programs.”
Through the Preschool Learning Center, it can improve the highest quality of childcare to these preschool kids from low-income families. It also seeks to help them succeed in life, which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s support.
