Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce earlier this year that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also announced that they wanted to work and be financially independent.
The royal couple is still in a probation period away from the Firm and has some rules to follow, New Idea reported.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not ripped off their royal titles, but it was agreed that they would not use their HRH titles and abandon the Sussex Royal brand.
Previous reports claimed they filed for a global trademark for Sussex Royal. However, the Queen strongly disagreed with the couple using the “royal” word in their brand.
The Sussexes had also stopped using the Sussex’s official Instagram account. They had over 12 million followers in the account, and they never created a new one after they made their last post in the account.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle closed their office because its primary funding was from HRH, The Prince of Wales, and they are no longer working royals.
They also informed their team about the changes in January for a smoother transition for each of them. Aside from losing their office, they also lost the royal protection.
The members of the Firm are privileged to enjoy royal protection. It was necessary to keep them safe from paparazzi, and that’s one of the reason there is minimal to no leaked photos of the royals because the British media also respect that. Prince Harry and Markle don’t enjoy the same protection in the U.S.A.

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to California, many were wondering if the state would protect them. The state usually protects the royals when they visit the country. However, President Donald Trump set the record straight that the Sussexes had to pay for their security.
“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!” he added.
