Estranged brothers Prince Harry and Prince William are “trying their best” to get along with the Queen and show a united front, despite the situation being “uncomfortable” for them.

Prince Harry and Prince William are “trying their best” to get along with the Queen despite being “uncomfortable”.

Since Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8, the two brothers, who had been estranged for years, have been forced to spend time together, with Harry reportedly finding it “difficult” at times to be in William’s company.

Despite the brothers’ discomfort, a source close to Harry told the Sunday Times of London that “everybody is trying their best.”

The Prince of Wales, 40, and the Duke of Sussex, 38, delighted royal fans last week when they appeared with their respective wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, to view floral tributes and cards laid outside Windsor Castle in memory of the late monarch.

However, the outing was marked by awkward body language displayed by both Markle, 41, and Middleton, 40, who appeared uncomfortable during their reunion.

They also stood vigil by the late monarch’s casket on Saturday evening (September 17), alongside their cousins, The Sun reported.

Prince Harry wore his military uniform after getting special permission from King Charles III. He had previously been forced to wear civilian clothes at public events since the Queen’s death due to being stripped of his military titles when he stepped down from royal duties in 2020.

The two brothers also had a brief earlier this week when William, who was on his way to collect his kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis from school, drove past his brother and Meghan while they were in a separate car.

They reportedly drove past each other before stopping, reversing, and rolling down their windows for a brief chat.

A brother’s friend revealed that the brothers’ joint appearances “take effort,” and they both understood that it was necessary to show “solidarity.”

The relationship between the brothers has been strained since at least 2019 when Harry stated in an interview that he and William were “certainly on different paths at the moment.”

Relationships deteriorated further when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who will leave the royal family in 2020 and relocate to California, sat down for a shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.

Markle recently gave another interview in which she claimed that she and Harry were “upsetting the hierarchy … just by existing.”

Harry will also be releasing a memoir early next year, which is said to be full of truth bombs.

Friends of Harry have previously stated that, while their fraternal relationship is still in its early stages, he could not be happier or more fulfilled by his family dynamic with Markle and their two children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
