Helena Bonham Carter gives Meghan Markle sound advice; says not to put self esteem in the hands of strangers

Helena Bonham Carter had some sound advice to give to the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle amidst her and Prince Harry’s legal battle with the British press. Read below to know what the Fight Club (1999) star had to share on the same.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under the scrutiny of the media, ever since they began dating. Things escalated further when the two announced their engagement, got married and had a son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Meghan, in particular, has been seen from a negative point of view by many! It’s gotten so heated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently in a legal battle with several publications from the British press for invading their privacy, on several occasions.

In a recent interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter was asked to give some advice to Markle about how she should face the negative press about herself. “I don’t pay attention to it and I wish she wouldn’t have to. I feel like there’s just so much. It’s just all too much,” Helena shared with Andy Cohen and added, “It must be really hard for her not to, but all I’d say to her is, as soon as you become well known and in the public, it’s a domain you have to kind of accept.”

Furthermore, Carter added that whatever people think and write about Meghan is not really about the Duchess. Rather, it’s about their own selves! “The most important or useful thing that someone told me is [why are] you putting your self-esteem in the hands of strangers?,” the Fight Club (1999) star concluded.
