Cara Delevingne is flying high. Currently riding the maelstrom that is catwalk season, racking up almost 30 shows to date amid working on her hectic social life and growing fashion campaigns, the girl does not stop (when does she find the time for the constant Instagram and Twitter updates?).
Burberry‘s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, long an admirer of the mini Delevingne (she is the face of Burberry Beauty; he has cast her in multiple shows and campaigns – including alongside Romeo Beckham in the most recent), has signed up the big-browed one to be the face of Body Tender.
The campaign, shot by Mario Testino on London’s Southbank with a spectacular backdrop of the Thames and Houses of Parliament, is set to Brit artist Misty Miller‘s take on Happy Together (she is another familiar face at Burberry, having been one of the first artists to record for Burberry Acoustic back in 2010).
A fully paid-up member of the Burberry family, Cara, 20, recently paid tribute to the brand, saying backstage at the autumn/winter 13 show earlier this month that her career started with the fashion house.
‘This is basically where I began,’ she said. ‘I’ve done this [Burberry] show five or six times and I’m so happy to be involved with the same people, the same family. It’s really amazing.’
Clearly the Burberry family they feel the same way about Cara. The new fragrance, Bailey says, is about ‘creating something that captures all the different characteristics of the Burberry girl’. – DailyMail
