Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are some of the most famous celebrity couples today. With their respective fame and reputation, many fans and followers continue to adore the two celebrities.
But, while their successes in the world of show business remain apparent, Cheat Sheet reported that the couple of 15 years had “financial struggles” due to the lack of film and movie roles. They were even “starving” because of the lack of opportunities in their careers.
Speaking to InStyle earlier this month, Jason Momoa confirmed and revealed his family’s struggles with financial matters. He broke his silence and shared that it was not easy for him and Lisa Bonet.
The actor continued that having “two small children” made things even “more devastating,” adding that they were “starving,” especially after his stint in Game of Thrones. He, later on, described it as “challenging” considering that they have kids and they also have debts.
Alongside Momoa, his wife, Lisa Bonet, also had “ebbs and flows” with her career, according to Madame Noire. While her husband was having a hard time looking for film roles, the Road To Paloma actress shared that there are not “endless opportunities” for women of color.
She opened up about the minimal roles available at that time. Aside from being “one foot in and one foot out” when it comes to her career, she noted that the industry had “slim pickings,” too.
Jason Momoa played the role of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones Season 1. During the pilot run of the HBO series, not many people were lining up to watch the show. It was only a few years later when it hit the global scene. However, the 41-year-old actor was no longer part of the series because his character met his unfortunate demise before the end of the first season.
Things improved, though, in 2014, when he joined the DC Extended Universe. He obtained the role of Aquaman and has since become part of the franchise. He also headlined the solo film Aquaman in 2018.
Momoa and Bonet first met in a jazz club in 2005. The actor previously revealed that he felt “fireworks” at that time because he had a huge crush on her since he was eight years old.
They started to date after their first encounter. Two years later, they welcomed their first child together and their second in 2008. Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet secretly tied the knot in 2017.
