The couple celebrated their joyous moment with Sanchez’s family, including her ex-husband Tony Gonzalez, her oldest son Nikko (21), and Gonzalez’s wife October, who joined them on the superyacht.
The elite guests at the Vanity Fair party during the Cannes Film Festival 2023 were the first to learn about the engagement, witnessing the couple’s public display of affection. Onlookers at the event reported that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez were inseparable, overflowing with excitement, and eagerly sharing the news of their engagement.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez began their relationship in 2018, allegedly falling in love while collaborating on a project for Bezos’ space exploration company, Blue Origin. They made their relationship official in 2019, following Bezos’ divorce from his first wife, MacKenzie Scott, with whom he shares four children.
Prior to her relationship with Bezos, Sanchez co-hosted the morning show Good Day LA from 2011 to 2017 and appeared in films such as Fight Club, The Longest Yard, and Ted 2. In 2016, she established Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and production company.
Sanchez was previously married to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell, with whom she has two children, Ella and Evan. She also has a 21-year-old son named Nikko from her previous relationship with ex-NFL player Tony Gonzalez.
Following the divorce settlement, MacKenzie Scott received approximately $38 billion, positioning her as the third richest woman in the world. While she obtained 25% of the joint stock in Amazon, Bezos retained voting control over approximately 20 million shares belonging to her.
