Has Jessica Simpson’s Weight Loss Plan Helped Her Maintain Her Body Goals?

When Jessica Simpson’s memoir “Open Book” was published in February 2020, fans got an inside look at the hardships she had experienced as a young pop star. She shared all, from her rough marriage to Nick Lachey to her tough relationship with John Mayer. And the singer also talked about getting plastic surgery and how starring on TV led to her divorce from Lachey.

Simpson’s fans can’t forget the moment from MTV’s Newlyweds when asked if she was eating chicken or tuna. But in recent years, Simpson has been in the news for losing a ton of weight after having her third child, Birdie Mae Johnson, in 2019. Has Jessica Simpson sustained her weight loss, and what is her diet and exercise plan like in 2023?

Jessica Simpson may have a $200 net worth. She may be married to Eric Johnson, who is equally famous and was in the NFL. But she’s still pretty relatable. She has struggled with ups and downs with her weight and has spoken about not always feeling comfortable in her skin. And most people can say that they have been through the same thing.

While Jessica Simpson hasn’t spoken about her weight loss in 2023, it seems that she has kept the weight off that she lost over the past few years. According to Radar Online, the people in her life think that she has dropped too many pounds. Sources told the publication that they are “extremely worried.”

andre emilio suitsFans appear to have some concerns as well. There are countless comments on Simpson’s Instagram from the past few months with people asking if she’s alright or saying that she has lost too much. However, unless the singer shares herself, there’s no way of knowing how healthy or unhealthy Simpson’s weight loss has been. She also doesn’t appear to have shared what she’s eating or how she’s working out in 2023.

It’s possible that Simpson is following the same plan that she began after having her third baby. It seems that she has maintained the pounds that she lost. In January 2023, Page Six published an article called “Jessica Simpson shows off weight loss while out to dinner with husband” and said she had a “fit figure.” And in April 2023, The Daily Mail wrote in a headline, “Jessica Simpson steps out looking thinner than ever.”

Jessica Simpson lost 100 pounds and according to Entertainment Tonight, she did so over a period of three years. This is important to note since many times, people read about fad diets and unhealthy ways to shed weight. And it always seems like people are able to lose weight in a super short amount of time. But that isn’t necessarily the best or healthiest way to do it.

Simpson told Entertainment Tonight, “I’ve lost 100 pounds three times. I definitely gain weight, a lot of weight in my pregnancies, I celebrate pregnancy, but this last pregnancy was really hard for me. I don’t know if it was because I was older, hormones and all kinds of stuff, but whoa, Birdie gave me a brutal stretch.”

Simpson followed a diet and exercise plan and according to Women’s Health, she worked out three times each week for a total of 45 minutes each. The singer worked with personal trainer Harley Pasternak and ate according to “The Body Reset Diet,” the book that he wrote and published in 2014.

According to Women’s Health, Pasternak mentioned how Simpson was eating and said that she would still eat food that was enjoyable. He said, “She’ll have foods that are very favorable that are healthier versions of things like a tortilla soup or Tex-Mex. And if she has a birthday party one night and a date night another night, she’s going to indulge in both of those nights, but that’s it. It’s about balancing in a way that doesn’t make it painful or too much of a departure from your life before that.”

Pasternak’s eating plan seems to work well, as Simpson seems to have kept the weight off. According to his website, he has worked with other stars such as Amy Schumer, Halle Berry, Kim Kardashian, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Jessica Simpson has talked about losing 100 pounds, and in some interviews, she sounds happy. She focuses on how she feels and the changes she has made.

Simpson told Extra TV in 2022, “I absolutely feel healthy. I don’t know. I feel like my old self before I had children and all the hormones going wild. I feel younger, actually. I have a lot more energy and yeah, I get to wear all the clothes that are in storage that I saved for Maxwell and Birdie. Maybe Birdie will outgrow them because Maxwell has already outgrown me!”

The singer was honest about how hard it can be to see strangers talking about how she looks. When asked “Have you gotten used to” people discussing this topic, Simpson said, “Oh, gosh, no. Would any woman?”.

She continued that when she was filming the 2005 remake of the 1970s TV show The Dukes of Hazzard, Lynda Carter told her that people would always associate her with Daisy Duke from that point on. Simpson suggested that people will always talk about her weight and appearance.

Simpson told Extra TV, “I’ve been criticized, and it hurts, but I’ve been every weight and I’ve been proud of it. I decided, ‘Okay, everybody is going to talk about my weight all the time, I might as well make money off of it and turn it into a business of selling clothes and acceptance.”

While of course none of Jessica Simpson’s fans want to hear that she has had a tough time with people commenting on what she looks like, it sounds like she has found more confidence over the years. And it’s great that she is so comfortable talking about her feelings. The singer’s words are likely comforting to anyone who has struggled similarly.
