Johnny Depp lied about Amber Heard not donating her $7M divorce settlement

Johnny Depp is being accused of lying about Amber Heard not donating the $7 million divorce settlement she received to charities.

Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft slammed Johnny Depp for trying to attack her client publicly after he lost his lawsuit against The Sun.

“Amber has already been responsible for seven figures in donations to charitable causes and intends to continue to contribute and eventually fulfill her pledge,” Bredehoft said.

Amber Heard’s lawyer comes to her defense

Bredehoft also said that Depp’s efforts to plant stories about his ex-wife have backfired.

“Mr. Depp’s efforts to plant stories in the media criticizing Amber for not yet fulfilling all the donations she pledged to charity is yet another desperate attempt to divert attention from the U.K. court’s findings relating to allegations of Mr. Depp committing domestic abuse and violence,” she added.

But Depp’s team is insisting that Heard’s promise to donate her divorce settlement is a sham.

After all, the Aquaman star just paid $100,000 to a hospital, which is short of what she initially promised to give them.

Johnny Depp to blame for Amber Heard stalling charitable donations

However, Heard’s lawyer said that the delays in the actress’s donation should be blamed on her ex-husband.

“Amber has been delayed in that goal because Mr. Depp filed a lawsuit against her, and consequently, she has been forced to spend millions of dollars defending Mr. Depp’s false accusations against her. How much has Mr. Depp contributed to charity over the last several years?” she said.

Johnny Depp, Amber Heard’s battle continues

During Depp’s court hearing against The Sun, Heard was, reportedly, called to testify against her ex-husband.

According to Epic Stream, the judge ruled in favor of The Sun and Heard after debunking Depp’s claim that his ex-wife was a gold digger.

“Her donation of the $7 million to charity is hardly the act one would expect of a gold-digger,” the judge said.

Johnny Depp also filed a defamation case against Heard. And the exes have yet to face each other in court.

Last year, the Pirates of the Caribbean star requested the court to delay his defamation case hearing against Heard due to his work commitments.

But after the judge ruled in favor of Heard and The Sun two months later, Johnny Depp was also forced to quit The Fantastic Beasts franchise.
