In the now-altered caption, Justin revealed that during a past argument with Hailey, he once told her, “she would never be on the cover of Vogue,” admitting it was a low blow meant to “get even” after feeling “disrespected.”
“Yikes I know, so mean,” he added.
The comment sparked a wave of criticism online, with fans condemning what they perceived as emotional insensitivity. The backlash was strong enough that Justin eventually changed the caption, but not before it reignited a larger discussion about how he treats Hailey in public and private settings.
A thread titled “Justin Bieber treating Hailey Bieber like a piece of sh*t” created by a fan account on X (formerly Twitter) compiled numerous instances that fans argue reflect problematic behavior.

Included in the thread were videos showing the singer slamming a car door in Hailey’s face, walking ahead of her without waiting, and leaving her to struggle with a skateboard while he skated off. Another video featured Justin snapping at Hailey, telling her not to “touch” him as he appeared visibly irritated.
Further inflaming the debate was a post that Justin reportedly liked, which included a meme mocking his relationship with Hailey by suggesting his previous girlfriend, Selena Gomez, was the superior partner.
Fans also pointed out his crude remark during Hailey’s first Mother’s Day celebration, when he allegedly said, “Mother’s Day sucks a—,” further fuelling claims of disrespect.
Supporters of Hailey, who is currently expecting her first child with Justin, flooded social media calling the relationship “toxic” and urging her to walk away.
