Prince William and Kate Middleton spent the last few months isolating with their three children at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk, and now two properties are available to rent just metres away.
The two cottages sit near the entrance to Anmer Hall, though they’re a fair bit smaller than the royals’ sprawling 10-bedroom property.
One is a two-bedroom home going for £725 a month, or about $1,300, and the other, which features three bedrooms and a garden, can be rented for £875 or $1,570 per month.
They’re certainly not cheap, but can you really put a price on living so close to royalty?
Anmer Hall is the Cambridge family’s favoured royal residence, Kate and William often bringing the children to Norfolk to spend the school holidays away from the hustle and bustle of London.
The 10-bedroom home is located on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate, far from the prying eyes of any media or the public, making it the perfect private retreat.
It came as no surprise when they decided to spend lockdown there as well when the coronavirus pandemic hit the UK, as the home is isolated and far from London, which became a virus hotspot.
Kate and William made many a Zoom call from the home, and royal fans were eager to get a peek inside.
But there’s more to Anmer Hall than its sprawling grounds and many (many) rooms; it’s also given William and Kate a place to raise their children as a “normal” family.
They don’t have to be “royals” in Norfolk, and Kate reportedly decorated the home to reflect that, avoiding the grandiose furnishings of more classic royal residences.
One source described the residence as “like a fancy farmhouse”, adding it has a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.
Another insider, who seemed to have visited the home, said Kate greeted guests at the door herself and “there was no formality at all.”
“It really was like any other family sitting down to lunch,” the insider told People.
By all reports, it seems Anmer Hall is where the Cambridges feel most at home, and who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
Though moving in next door won’t guarantee an audience with your royal neighbours, we’re sure Kate or William would be the type to wave hello if they passed you on a stroll around the local area.
