The Princess of Wales attended the occasion with her three children, Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7), and Prince Louis, as well as her husband, Royal William (4). Princess Catherine wore a lovely coatdress designed by Catherine Walker, the same one she had worn in March 2022 to the Commonwealth Day Ceremony.
Her vibrant nail polish violated royal tradition, which was quickly noticed by fans. She didn’t wear a neutral color, but a vivid red nail varnish that contrasted with her royal blue purse.
While performing official tasks, members of the royal family are expected to dress appropriately in neutral hues. Queen Elizabeth II introduced this rule by forbidding royals from painting their nails in garish, distracting colors.
This wasn’t the first time a royal had broken the law, though. In 2019, Meghan Markle went to Cirque du Soleil with Prince Harry while sporting dark toenail polish.
Princess Catherine harmonized with her entire family, who also wore royal blue, for the Easter Sunday service. Princess Charlotte wore a blue-and-white flowery dress with baby blue stockings and navy flats, while Prince William, 40, and Prince George sported similar navy suits.
