Members of the public are even displaying rainbow drawings on their windows and outside their homes to spread the message of hope.
And now the Duchess of Cambridge is thought to be doing the same — virtually, through her fashion choices.
The popular @CambridgeMums Instagram account pointed out on May 12 that the Duchess has worn all the colours of the rainbow throughout a series of her virtual addresses.
“Kate has literally worn a rainbow,” @CambridgeMums wrote in the caption of a grid photo showing the Duchess’ colourful looks.
Our duchess of impact has quite literally used her lockdown wardrobe to send a message, and we are here for it.”
The Duchess wore for an indigo midi by French designer Joseph Altuzarra for various video calls to hospitals around the world to mark International Nurse’s Day earlier this week.
And last week, Kate wore a £250 red L.K. Bennett dress which she wore to Wimbledon in 2015 for a VE Day video call to war veterans.
And she also picked for a £495 yellow silk dress from Raey for an interview with This Morning ahead of her Hold Still photography project launch.
Earlier this month, Kate wore family friend Tabitha Webb’s by wearing 70s inspired chevron jumper as she joined midwives and new mothers on the virtual call last week.
The Duchess picked a baby blue £275 jumper by British designer Tabitha Webb as she joined the virtual event.
At the end of the month, she wore a violet £129 floral dress from British firm Ghost as she stepped out of her home at Anmer Hall for Clap for Carers.
She donned the Anouk Dress, which showcases fabric-covered buttons as the main feature with romantic ruffles along the collar and hem, for the occasion.
Days earlier, she wore independent brand Really Wild’s Long Crewneck Jumper in emerald green as she and Prince William chaired a virtual meeting with a mental health charity.
Her first online engagement, in which Kate spoke to schoolchildren in Burnley over Zoom, was the only event in which she did not wear a British designer.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are working to keep people’s spirits lifted and their outfits might reflect that, too.
In April, the couple told BBC how they are staying in touch with family via FaceTime.
