Kate Middleton Is Losing Another Friend in the Royal Family

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s decision to step down as senior working members of the British royal family was very much centered around their unhappiness.

It appeared that royal fans nor. U.K. citizens were ever satisfied with anything the Sussexes did. Additionally, the constant media intrusion in their lives got to be overwhelming.

Though Megxit was very much a personal decision, it has deeply affected everyone within the British royal family, specifically — Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge. Since Megxit the Cambridges’ schedules have only gotten more hectic and they’ve been further isolated from the Sussexes.

Now, with news of a royal divorce amid Megxit, the Duchess of Cambridge is set to lose another close member of the royal family. Though she’s put on a brave face — the Duchess of Cambridge has a lot more on her plate now that Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex aren’t shouldering the burden of royal duties.

“Kate’s in a panic and has been having bouts of anxiety,” an insider told US Weekly. “She barely has time to rest, and when she does try to sleep, her mind is constantly racing.” Apparently, the duchess’ schedule is also extremely hectic with 18-hour workdays.

William and Kate may have extra responsibilities in the wake of Harry and Meghan’s move to Canada but neither of them want that to be at the expense of their Foundation,” an insider told The Sun. “They both work very closely with the team and Kate is sitting in on more and more meetings so she can have an input in the work that is going on.”

Thankfully, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex have stepped in to help. Though Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship has been strained in recent years, the duchess has always adored her brother-in-law. Now with Megxit, she fears they will never share a close bond again.

“She wishes she could speak to Harry. She misses him and fears she’ll never be close to him again,” an insider told US Weekly. Unfortunately, because she and the Duchess of Sussex never truly got close, it doesn’t look like they ever will. “They couldn’t be further apart,” the source explained.

Along with Prince Harry, Middleton is losing another royal ally. Her good friend and cousin-in-law, Autumn Phillips, is divorcing the queen’s grandson, Peter Phillips.

“Kate was really good friends with Autumn,” royal commentator Angela Mollard explained. “In fact, she went to Autumn’s wedding as one of her first official engagements on her own in 2008 because Prince William was in Kenya. She sort of represented the couple and has been really good friends with Autumn ever since.

It’s very hard for someone like Kate. You’ve got your own direct family and then you’ve got friends who you would trust, and I don’t imagine there’d be many of them. You have to know that anything you say doesn’t get passed on. The special creed within the Royal Family of non-disclosure means that speaking to someone like Autumn with more depth is refreshing.

They have so many shallow conversations every day, they have to speak so generically about everything, she has to think about what she’s saying all the time. For Kate, properly talking to someone like Autumn must be incredibly valuable. Being in the Royal Family at times must be incredibly lonely, to have allies is very important.”
