Kate Middleton ‘Thriving’ After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Exit Drama: Her Quiet Confidence Is Winning Over Fans

Following Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex‘s departure from their royal duties, many looked to Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge to see how they handled the family drama.

Those analyzing the Cambridges’ every move found that Kate seems to be doing well, with one expert claiming she appears to be “thriving” now that Prince Harry and Meghan are gone.

In early January, Prince Harry and Meghan announced that they would be taking a “step back” as senior royals. Queen Elizabeth called a special meeting to discuss the Sussexes’ plan and approved their request, with some conditions — they would no longer use their HRH titles, nor would they receive public funding.

It’s been business as usual for Prince William and Kate, who hosted an event and have stepped out for engagements after Prince Harry and Meghan made their move to Canada.

Kate, in particular, has been the focus for some royal experts, with royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams sharing that she is “impeccable” and is “thriving,” post-Sussex exit.

“In the wake of Megxit and Prince Andrew’s disgrace the Royal Family has had its worst period since the 1990s,” he told Express, adding, “Yet it is unwise ever to underestimate its capacity to reinvent itself.”

Fitzwilliams continued: “This has been a period which Kate has handled impeccably and imaginatively. It isn’t just a matter of photo opportunities or growing in confidence as a public speaker.”

Fitzwilliams pointed to Kate’s recent engagement where she “combined her commitment to children’s welfare with her creative side… Her work for children was especially imaginative in the nationwide survey she recently launched to assist the development of under-fives and she went on a tour to promote this.”

The Duchess of Cambridge spent the morning at Stockwell Gardens Nursery talking to staff and parents about her landmark survey #5BigQuestions. Launched last week, the survey aims to spark a UK-wide conversation on early childhood, asking everyone in the UK to have their say on raising the next generation. During her visit, The Duchess spoke to teachers, staff and parents about the survey before joining chefs and apprentices in the kitchen to talk about the importance of good, nutritious food for child development. The LEYF Chef Academy offers a specialist qualification for chefs either working or keen to work with children up to the age of eight and was designed to strengthen the important roles chefs play in educating staff and parents, and influencing children’s healthy food choices. He also pointed to Kate and William hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace for those attending the UK-Africa Investment Summit, calling it “highly successful.”

Fitzwilliams noted: “Whether it is her commitment to helping children, the enchanting gardens she designs or her status as a fashion icon Kate is certainly thriving and attracting extremely positive global coverage at a time when the monarchy unquestionably needs her undoubted abilities.”

Daily Mail royal expert, Rebecca English, tweeted about Kate’s visit to Evelina London Children’s Hospital calling her more sure-footed. She shared: “A thought from today’s visit by the Duchess of Cambridge to @EvelinaLondon.

Kate was noticeably more hands-on than I’ve seen her before, posing for umpteen pictures with patients & generally seemed more sure-footed. A post Megxit change? Who knows? But it went down well with patients.”
