Kate Middleton, Prince William found ‘replacements’ for royal fab four?

Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, joined Kate Middleton and Prince William, on the British Royal Family’s latest reunion.

Prince William and Kate Middleton continue to step up as senior working royals since Megxit happened. Following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit, the Cambridge couple has since maintained their focus on their works for the Crown.

While royal fans and followers remain supportive of the royal couple, many of them are wondering who will likely replace the Sussex couple in the so-called “royal fab four.” Several speculations have since emerged but, it is only recently when some are convinced that the search is over.

The Daily Express reported that Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, are possibly the replacements. This came after when the royal couple joined the future King and Queen Consort at the family’s latest reunion at Windsor Castle.

All the senior working royals made their first reunion on Tuesday since the start of the pandemic crisis. Queen Elizabeth headed the event at Windsor Castle. Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were also present during the rare appearance.

Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived at the engagement as it was part of their royal tour. Princess Anne joined them as well, as she continues her work as Princess Royal.

What was shocking, though, was Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex’s participation at the event. Their presence has seemingly sparked the talks about the Sussex couple’s replacement in the “royal fab four.

The rare reunion, which happened on Tuesday, was not the first time the public saw the two couples together. Earlier in May, Kate Middleton and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, had a joint virtual engagement for the International Nurses Day.

Both of the female royals spoke to nurses from various Commonwealth countries, including Australia, Malawi, Bahamas, and India. A separate report from the Daily Express said at that time that this might be the beginning of a new royal fab four.

When Meghan Markle joined the British Royal Family, she and Prince Harry increasingly joined the Cambridge couple’s engagements and appearances. With their appeal, the public and the media started calling them the “royal fab four,” according to Vogue.

It is not necessarily an official group. It is more of a “nickname” the public bestowed on them as they, more often than not, execute events together.

But, with the Sussexes’ exit, this left Kate Middleton and Prince William to do the work on their own. Hence, many people started to look for “replacements” and ended up concluding that the Wessex couple might be the ideal option.
