Katherine McPhee is expecting her first baby with husband David Foster, it has been reported.
Pictures obtained by People show the happy couple shopping for baby items while out in California.
The child will be 36-year-old Katherine’s first, while her record producer beau, 70, is already father to five children.
David has five daughters – the eldest being 50-year-old Alison, and was married four times before saying ‘I do’ to American Idol star Katherine last year.
The businessman tied the knot for a fifth time with Katherine in June 2019 at a service held in South Kensington , London.
David got down on one knee a year after finalising his divorce from wife number four, Yolanda Foster, the mother of his step-children, models Bella and Gigi Hadid, and their brother Anwar.
David and Katherine are believed to have become involved back in 2017, just after David split from Yolanda.
They went public with their romance that summer after being spotted having dinner at the beloved A-list haunt Nobu in Malibu, California.
The couple, who share a 34 year age gap, were first introduced back in 2006 when Katherine was a contestant on American Idol.
Producer and music exec. David appeared on the show serving as a guest mentor for the contestants during Katherine’s season. He also produced some of her music after she came runner-up in the contest.
When David celebrated his 68th birthday in November 2017, he and Katherine opened up about the romance to his family, including his famous step-kids, as they got together for his party.
A year later, Katherine made a public announcement that her older lover had popped the question during a romantic trip to italy.
“He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri,” she gushed.
“Totally dark only stars. Thankfully he didn’t push me off the cliff.
“He said it was one or the other. And in the end he spared me. [Emoji face with tears of joy ].”
The pair then got married in June 2019 – 13 years to the day they met on American Idol.
While the baby is Katherine’s first, David has plenty of experience when it comes to bringing up children.
His first child Alison Jones Foster, 50, was born when David was 20 and put up for adoption.
The pair reconnected some 30 years later.
He then had a daughter Amy Skylark, 46, with his first wife the singer songwriter BJ Cook.
While his second marriage to Rebecca Dyer, produced daughters Sara, 39, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34.
He later married Linda Thompson and then Yolanda Hadid.
David and Yolanda appeared on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills together from season three to six.
They shocked fans by announcing they were splitting in 2015 after four years of marriage and nine years together.
Yolanda claimed in her book that her struggle with Lyme disease led to their separation.
David later denied the allegations, saying : “How can I leave a sick woman? The fact of the matter is, that is not the reason why I left.
“It was for a different reason, which I will never disclose, but it had nothing to do with her being sick.”
