Katy Perry Gets Real About Pregnancy Hormones: ‘I Cry Doing Simple Tasks’

Katy Perry has never been one to hold back, so it goes without saying that the pop star has been an open book in her road to motherhood.

Over the weekend, Perry headlined the SHEIN Together livestream event, which raised funds for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, and let viewers in on her pregnancy. “I would say I have five good days and two days where I cry when I look down at my toes or I cry when just doing simple tasks,” she told host Erin Lim.

“I think a lot of that is hormonal and I’m not used to being around so many people all in a confined [or] a small space for so long. I’m used to going [out] all the time. I like my alone time.”

As for her safe space, Perry said that the stay-at-home orders amid the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted her to spend “alone time” in her car. “There is not really anywhere to go besides my car, so I go to my car a lot,” she said.

When it came to her musical numbers during the four-hour event, the pop star performed a mix of old and new, including “Firework,” “Roar” and “Never Really Over.” Later on in the weekend, Perry also revealed that she and fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting a baby girl.

Besides Perry, the SHEIN Together livestream event also included performances from Lil Nas X, Doja Cat and Rita Ora, with appearances from Hailey BieberYara Shahidi and more. In addition to committing $100,000 to the cause, SHEIN created a collection of #SHEINTogether shirts to further help raise funds.
