Kevin Jonas Opens Up About Post-Tour Depression Ahead of JONAS20 Tour

Kevin Jonas is shedding light on the emotional toll of life on the road, offering a candid perspective just months before the Jonas Brothers kick off their highly anticipated JONAS20 tour.

In an exclusive interview with People, the 37-year-old singer and lead guitarist of the iconic pop-rock trio revealed the psychological challenges he faced after their last global tour. Jonas openly discussed his experience with “post-show blues,” a term used to describe the emotional downturn that can follow the adrenaline-fueled high of live performances.

“All the depression, blues, it’s real, especially after a tour,” Jonas admitted. Reflecting on the band’s most recent tour, THE TOUR, which supported their sixth studio release The Album, Jonas described the emotional and physical exhaustion that followed.

The tour, which spanned more than 130 shows, concluded in Europe—a leg that proved particularly taxing for the eldest Jonas brother. “After our last tour, we did over 100 and something shows – it was too many – and we ended in Europe,” he explained.

“I got on my plane to come home after I believe 130 shows, and I got on my flight, which was delayed terribly, which is never fun.” The journey home proved to be the breaking point. Jonas detailed a grueling 18-hour travel ordeal, made worse by delays and unexpected stops.

“I took the first flight out from Poland to go through Munich to get home and was delayed for like seven hours, and then they had to make a random stop in Nova Scotia,” he said. “So it literally took me like an extra 18 hours to get home, and I was already fatigued and burnt out by the time I got home.”

The experience prompted Jonas to seek professional help. “I actually had to go start talking to a therapist about it, how to process the highs and lows. It’s so jarring,” he added.

Jonas’s openness about his mental health struggles comes at a time when more artists are speaking out about the psychological impact of constant touring and public performance.

With the JONAS20 tour scheduled to begin this August at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, fans are already buzzing with excitement. Still, Jonas’s remarks serve as a sobering reminder of the personal sacrifices that come with fame and the relentless pace of the music industry.

As the band prepares to celebrate two decades of chart-topping success, Kevin’s vulnerability underscores the importance of mental health, even for global superstars.
