The decision came after Queen Elizabeth banned the royal couple from using the title. Her Majesty also said that Prince Harry and Markle will officially be relieved of their royal duties today, March 31.
“While you may not see us here, the work continues. T hank you to this community — for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another. Harry and Meghan,” they wrote.
Unfortunately, Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to say goodbye to their millions of social media followers did not sit well with their critics. They said that now is not the right time to make a big deal of the royal couple’s bombshell exit because there are more important issues in the world.
“Why are you shoving this garbage on us for? This isn’t news, this is incitement by you to work up the masses that can’t stand Meghan and the way Harry is now acting,” Twitter user @DCIDibble said.
“Here we go stirring about Meghan and Harry! I’d like to read the article suspect it might be different from the headline. Pathetic criticizing their Instagram message! Capital letters – timing ffs!” Twitter user @ginandfred said.
“In the middle of a pandemic, goodbye from Harry and Meghan to their Instagram followers,” Twitter user @En24_News said.
