The Duchess of Sussex, 39, who announced on Valentine’s day she was having a second child with Prince Harry, 36, is quickly approaching her speculated due date.
Although she has not made the anticipated date public, she revealed during an interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March that the baby would come “this summer”.
However, according to Daily Beast’s Royalist newsletter, the due date could actually be by the end of the month.
It said: “The Royalist was always taught summer started in June, but there have also been rumours the baby was due sooner than that, so we think the answer is ‘any day now’.”
The announcement of the pregnancy back in February followed the tragic news that the Duchess had suffered a miscarriage last year.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes said the couple were “overjoyed” to be expecting their second child.
The following month, during her interview with Ms Winfrey, Harry and Meghan announced the baby would be a girl.
Omid Scobie, a friend of the couple and author of the Sussexes’ biography Finding Freedom, has hinted that Mrs Markle may choose to give birth at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Medical Centre.
During a Channel 4 documentary: A Very Royal Baby: From Cradle to Crown, Mr Scobie said: “There is a lot of speculation about where Harry and Meghan’s daughter might be born.
“Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles has some of the finest maternity suites in the country.”
The maternity suite costs an eye-watering £2,800-per-night and has previously been used by Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Victoria Beckham.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have spoken multiple times about their plans to have only two children.
In a 2019 interview with British Vogue, Harry said he wanted “Two, maximum”.
Harry’s message was then reiterated during the March bombshell interview with Oprah where he said: “To have any one or any two, but to have a boy and then a girl—what more could you ask for?
“But now we’ve got our family. We’ve got the four of us, we’ve got our two dogs. Done.”
Following up, Ms Winfrey asked: “Done—two is it?”
“Two is it,” Meghan said.
