Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have different views when it comes to a new documentary about the late Princess of Wales. A royal exported wanted them that their different perspective might even drive them apart.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be driven apart
A new documentary about Princess Diana is set to air on Netflix next year for her 25th death anniversary. According to royal expert and Princess Diana’s former butler and close friend, Paul Burrell, the documentary could tear over the ongoing rift with the royals.
Burrell said Netflix has capitalized the appetite for royal scandal with The Crown the Sussexes’ upcoming production deals, and Princess Diana’s documentary. He believed that if Prince Harry is already feeling torn and uncomfortable with his recent action, the upcoming documentary will cement those feelings. He also warned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of the possibility of the documentary driving them apart.
“It’s very awkward as I think Meghan may see Diana as a role model, and feel she can relate to her. So she’ll welcome more insight into Diana’s life and for them to be compared,” Burrell told Closer.
What to expect in the new documentary
The new program will reportedly be a sequel to the 2017 documentary Diana: In Her Own Words. It will likely feature audio and videotapes that she created to help her biographer Andrew Morton write his 1992 book Diana: Her True Story.
Paul Burrell said the new documentary about Princess Diana may draw up the scandal and private details about the late royal. He suspected that it would only make Prince Harry uncomfortable because he hated how his mom was exploited. And he might realize that the very same platform where he and Markle signed up with a production deal is doing the same thing.
Burrell believed that the new documentary that will reveal new details about the Princess of Wales will include conversations with her voice coach, Peter Settelen. It might also include the audio tapes she sent back and forth with her biographer, Andrew Morton.
Princess Diana’s former butler believed that the documentary will show more insight about Princess Diana and how extremely paranoid she was. There was a moment in her life when Princess Diana believed she was being bugged or followed by the press. In fact, there was a time when she had Burrell lift up floorboards and disconnect the phone.
