Bower, a British journalist, and royal commentator, commented on the Duchess of Sussex’s decision to maintain a low profile in recent months while her husband, Prince Harry, made headlines and faced various controversies.
Bower highlighted Prince Harry’s memoir, his book tour, his attendance at King Charles’ coronation, his lawsuits against newspaper publishers, and his court loss regarding police protection in the UK.
During an appearance on GB News’ “Dan Wootton Tonight,” Bower observed Meghan’s silence and speculated that she may be building up to a major undertaking. He noted that Meghan seems to rely on Harry to address issues publicly while she remains off-camera.
Bower further claimed that this year marked the “beginning of the end” for Prince Harry’s reputation, attributing it to the controversy surrounding the couple’s claims of a “near catastrophic” car chase with paparazzi in New York City. Bower suggested that Prince Harry’s decision to step back from royal duties and relocate to the US in 2020 had left him somewhat unbalanced.
Referring to Prince Harry’s lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), Bower asserted that Harry had lost the advantages, glamor, and credibility he once had, adding that the upcoming cross-examination in the Mirror case would be a significant moment for him.
Biographer Angela Levin, who has written about Prince Harry, expressed a similar opinion about the dynamic between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a previous interview on GB News. Levin claimed that Prince Harry opposed his family because he had been “brainwashed” by Meghan, who allegedly harbored animosity towards them.
Recent rumors suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be experiencing marital difficulties, with reports claiming that the Duke of Sussex has a place to escape from his wife. Prince Harry’s representative denied these claims, describing them as untrue.
Royal commentator Kara Kennedy also shared her views on GB News, expressing her belief that the current situation marked the beginning of the end for the couple’s marriage, which she believed was doomed from the start. Kennedy compared their relationship to that of Prince William and Kate Middleton, noting the resilience of the latter despite facing similar pressures.
Despite these speculations and reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been seen together on several outings this year, including a night out at the San Vicente Bungalows in Los Angeles in February, attending a Los Angeles Lakers game in April, and enjoying a sushi date after Prince Harry’s return to California from the London coronation.
