On Twitter, the royal couple was dubbed as a joke by netizens. Others also accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of trying to be a “cool power couple” but failing.
“What I just found out is crazy and it proves it’s all an act for the world. it’s been reported that Harry and Meghan wanted people to know that they are the ‘cool’ power couple from their Christmas card. They are a joke to the world,” Twitter user @Locoas said.
“They are anything but cool or power couple. They are a disaster. This is what happens when royals want to join the list of woke celebs! Nothing is real or genuine,” Twitter user @things_royal replied.
“Ignore them. That’s the worst thing that could happen to them. The Monarchy is not looking for cool. They are looking for dignity and tradition,” Twitter user @JoolesAdams said.
“Sussex a #joke,” Twitter user @Koki08201 said.
Twitter user @patrickbrock191 also retweeted a photo of Prince Harry wearing a Santa Claus costume. He said that the Duke of Sussex is the prince of clowns.
“What a joke, never mind the astronomical cost,” he added.
On Christmas Day, Prince Harry and Markle’s friend, Janina Gavankar attempted to silence all of the haters by sharing the original photo that she took of the royal couple and their son, Archie.
Gavankar’s photo was the one that was used by the Sussexes in this year’s e-card.
“So proud to have taken the Christmas photo of one of my best friends and her family. Here’s the original that was sent out,” she captioned the snap.

Unfortunately, some critics are still convinced that the photo was edited.
“Still photoshopped. Look at how Harry’s shirt blocks part of Archie’s head even though Harry is well behind his son,” Twitter user @mishimi48612785 said.
“Also, look at the size of Harry’s ear. The whole thing is photoshopped,” Twitter user @JanetteSidaway said.
