Meghan’s royal patronages are the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Mayhew, the National Theatre in London and Smart Works.
Richard Fitzwilliams has commented to the Express on speculation Princess Eugenie will take on some of Meghan’s patronages following next year’s Megxit review.
“I think that as far as we know there no signs that Eugenie’s going to be taking over any of the patronages that they still have,” he says. “It’s sometimes forgotten that Meghan has several patronages which are based here.
“Obviously at the moment, there’s no sign that she has any intention of giving them up.
“They have roles with the Commonwealth and that I’m sure will continue.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set for a ‘Megxit’ review in 2021 which could see them distancing even further from the royal family.
The couple has resigned as senior members of the British royal family and moved to the United States where they have signed lucrative commercial deals and launched their own charitable foundation Archewell.
Prince Harry expected to meet with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William in 2021 for a review of the terms of the couple’s split with the royal which saw Harry stripped of his military titles.
The couple was expected to return to the UK this month in preparation for Meghan’s privacy trial against Associated Press but she successfully applied for a nine month delay.
Meghan recently revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2019 while caring for her son Archie.
