Meghan is said to have joked about her son Archie Harrison needing a “pint-size little buddy” to play with, suggesting she may be thinking about having another baby. A friend of the Duchess of Sussex told the DailyMail: “She joked that he needs a pint-size little buddy other than the dogs.” Doting mother Meghan is also said to light up when she speaks about her 11-month old boy.
The friend added: “Meghan lit up when she spoke about Archie. “She said he’s a bundle of energy and prefers playing over sleeping.” Providing a rare insight into their family life, Meghan’s friend also claimed Archie loves mini instruments.
They said: “[Archie is] fascinated with his mini-instruments and likes banging on whatever he can. “He also likes it when daddy teases him and plays the harmonica.
“He thinks it’s funny.
‘She said Archie is quite the character and loves to laugh. “That he’s a happy baby.”
Meghan and Prince Harry officially stepped down as senior royals on March 31, a few days after flying across the Canadian border to relocate to Los Angeles. Little Archie hasn’t been spotted since late January, when he was being carried by Meghan on a walk in the woods.
Meghan and Harry last shared on social media a picture of their son on December 31. In the snap, the Duke is holding his son, wrapped up in a warm brown coat and a little wool hat. Archie is turning one on May 6, and is set to spend his first birthday just with his mother and father as the Californian Government has recently prolonged the lockdown to May 15.
Meghan and Harry had planned a birthday bash for little Archie which would have also marked their first get together with A-listers and friends in Los Angeles, a source claimed. However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced them to change their plans.
A source told the Daily Mail: “There is no way that Harry and Meghan could or would even consider throwing a party for family and friends. “As special as Archie turning one is, now is the time to take safety more seriously than ever.
“It’s a shame because Archie’s birthday, without the lockdown, offered the perfect opportunity to host a welcome to LA bash for them and their friends.” Meghan and Harry have been recently spotted delivering food parcels on behalf of local charity Project Angel Food.
Over the Easter period, the Duke and Duchess teamed up with the organisation, of which Doria Ragland is particularly fond of, and knocked at the doors of critically ill people to provide them with warm meals. This experience is said to have been particularly cherished by Meghan. One friend told the DailyMail: “Meghan said it felt good to finally be out and about, connecting with people.
“It was surreal and just so heartwarming. “They brought so many smiles and made Easter so special for those who needed it the most.” Some of the people they helped didn’t recognise the royals, while others greeted them to the city. The source added: “Some people didn’t recognise them at first and others were just completely shocked.
“One elderly woman actually started to cry and said she had always been a fan and had always wanted to meet them, and then welcomed them to their new life in America.”
