Following the announcement, Markle flew back to Canada to reunite with their son Archie. It turned out that the couple didn’t bring their baby when they returned to the U.K.
According to reports, Prince Harry will join his wife and baby soon. However, there are speculations that it is unlikely for Markle to return to Britain after the couple axed their household staff. Previous reports claimed that the Sussexes will be based in Canada after their bombshell announcement.
“Outside of anything that is being decided between the private offices [the nerve centres of royal operations] and the British and Canadian governments this week, no-one here believes that the duchess will ever really return to the UK in a meaningful way,” a source told Daily Mail.
“The workers are already being offered other roles at Buckingham Palace. There is a skeleton staff there all the time, consisting of one cleaner and a house manager. Others work as and when needed. This has all come as a bit of shock. They took great pride in working for them and being at Frogmore,” the insider continued.
A source also said that Markle dropped a major clue that she’s not returning to the U.K. when her dogs were relocated to Canada. The duchess’ pet pooches joined Prince Harry and Markle during their holiday in Canada but not when they returned to London on Jan. 6. The insider said that it was the “biggest clue” because Markle would not consider moving her pets if it would not be at least semi-permanent.
At present, Prince Harry is still in London. Meanwhile, Markle sparked pregnancy rumors after announcing that they are stepping back from their royal duties. Many believed that the couple is already expecting their second child, so they wanted to be away from the public.
British bookmaker Coral also suggested that this is very likely. Based on the betting odds, Prince Harry and Markle are the most likely royals to announce a pregnancy this year.
