Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been slammed as royal hypocrites for doing overtime to ensure they achieve constant saturation in the press while at the same time insisting on their right to privacy, The Sun reports.
In March, Meghan Markle and Harry trashed the royal family in their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview. And now, this past week, the duke sat down with Dax Shepard for an episode of the Armchair Expert podcast and laid into his father for apparently raising him wrong.
The couple has also dived right into Hollywood riches since leaving the UK and royal life in favor of a $14 million mansion in Montecito, California. Meghan Markle and Harry have signed lucrative production deals with Netflix and Spotify thought to score them more that $100 million.
“His opening up in the past as a form of therapy has been beneficial to others,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams noted of Harry’s recent disclosures.
“The need for this ceaseless exposure to the media is obviously hypocritical for a couple who are supposedly obsessed with privacy,” Fitzwilliams continued as he deconstructed Meghan Markle and Harry’s fixation on scoring headlines since leaving royal life.
Harry recently shocked the world by telling Shepard that his life in England was akin to living in The Truman Show. This after Meghan Markle told Oprah that The Firm, as the royal apparatus is known, rebuffed her desperate requests for intensive mental health treatment when she became suicidal during her first pregnancy.
“The comparison of royal life to The Truman Show may have some validity as the royal goldfish bowl was always stressful, but why does he not also consider the benefits it brings?” Fitzwilliam demanded to know. “He could not have helped so many with his charity work if he were not royal. He claims he’s found freedom, in reality, he seems to be increasingly trapped, but it is clear he doesn’t realise it yet.”
The Sun reports that Meghan Markle has flat-out “radicalized” Prince Harry since marrying into the royal family.
But Dymond told BBC Radio 4: “It’s been put to me by people in different quarters that this is largely as a result of Meghan, that he was happier in his role before Meghan.”
Dymond continued: “He himself says in this podcast she was part of the process of him understanding there was a different way and a different place for him to be, he’s pretty open about that. The way some people in the palace see it, she stirs the pot for her own motives and radicalises Harry.”
The Mirror cites palace sources who marvel at how Meghan Markle and Harry are always so keen to deflect blame for their circumstances onto the royal family, never taking any ownership of their own troubles.
Harry told Shepard that he and Meghan Markle intend to raise their children differently than he was as a member of the royal family.
The implication was that Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II were responsible for Harry’s struggles in life.
“They appear to be making careers of talking about their previous ones,” a source noted to the Daily Mail. “It is not helpful.”
