She might be tackling her fight against UK press, managing royal engagements and parenting a six-month-old baby boy but Meghan Markle made some time to host Hillary Clinton earlier this week. It has been revealed that the US politician made her way to the Duchess of Sussex’s Frogmore Cottage. The two powerful women, who met for the first time, came together and bonded over several things including baby Archie and Clinton’s grandchild to name a few. They greeted each other with a hug before they sat down and discussed several things.
According to Daily Mail, among the various things discussed, Meghan and Hillary discussed a powerful letter Meghan wrote to the US politicians decades ago. The report revealed that the former actress raised her voice against “sexist” dishwasher soap commercial when she was 11 years old. While it is unclear if she got a response or not, the UK publication reveals the advertisement was changed from “women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans” to “people.”
Apart from the letter, Hillary could a cuddle from Archie during her visit. Hillary also opened up about her grandson Jasper, who arrived in July this year. The report also added that the duo was fangirling over each other. “Both women have a lot of admiration for each other and it was a very sweet, warm meeting. They are mutual fan girls!” the insider revealed.
Meghan and Hillary were joined by Prince Harry as well. Hillary and Meghan’s meet comes days after Hillary shared her thoughts on Meghan’s fight against the British tabloid. During her chat with BBC Radio 5 Live, Hillary confessed she wanted hug Meghan and encourage her to not “those bad guys get you down. Keep going, do what you think is right.”
