However, some critics, such as SiriusXM personality Megyn Kelly, claimed that the Duchess of Sussex had called the paparazzi to take the snapshots and send a message to the royal family, following Prince Harry’s trip to the U.K. for King Charles III’s coronation.
The photographer who took the images, Clint Brewer, responded to these claims and posted a screenshot of the headline, along with the text, “I wish these were staged, would make my job easier.”
Brewer added an emoji laughing at the possibility that Kelly believed the photos were staged. Brewer’s response suggests that Meghan was trying to enjoy a private weekend with her friends, rather than trying to muscle in on royal events.
Although some celebrities do call the paparazzi for staged photos, Brewer is telling his followers that this time it wasn’t true. While he may have been camping out near the couple’s home and followed their vehicle to the hiking trail, he wanted to clarify that Meghan wasn’t trying to send a message to the royal family through these photos. It’s important to respect people’s privacy, and it’s good that Brewer is setting the record straight.
