Meghan Markle opened up about her new Disney venture in her highly anticipated first interview since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals.
The Duchess of Sussex is now living in her native Los Angeles, California, with Harry and their baby son Archie. Meghan chose Good Morning America for her first interview since the couple decided to withdraw from royal family duties at the end of March.
Viewers were hoping for some insight into their decision to start a new life together in the US but, no doubt under strict instructions, the pre-recorded interview focused solely on her new Disney documentary, Elephant.
In the short interview, which aired on US television today, the 38-year-old said she hopes the documentary will help change the world for the better by encouraging people to take care of eachother and the planet.
“I’m really grateful to have this opportunity to be a part of bringing this story about elephants to life,” she said.
“These creatures are so majestic and yet they are so sensitive and so connected.
“I’ve been lucky enough to be able to have hands on experience with elephants in their natural habitat when you spent time connecting to them and other wildlife you realise we have a role to play in their preservation and their safety.
