Meghan Markle Surprise Video Chatted a Woman to Wish Her ‘Best of Luck’ Ahead of Her Job Interview

Meghan Markle is using her time working from home to send some words of motivation to one of her patronages in the U.K.

On Wednesday, Smart Works, which aims to provide underprivileged women with interview-appropriate clothing and prepare them for the job market, revealed that the Duchess of Sussex recently spoke with one of its clients.

The woman (who was unnamed) was preparing for an interview for a psychology internship when Markle called to wish her “best of luck.” And, lucky for us, the organization shared part of the video exchange on Twitter.

“I think you’re going to be fantastic,” the duchess said in the clip. “I just wanted to be able to call in and tell you best of luck and my fingers are crossed for you.

There’s so much going on in the world right now and just to be such a beacon of hope and focusing on getting through it and all the positivity that we just want to send your way to make sure you can get on the other side of this too and have such a great opportunity there.”

After the quick chat, the young woman voiced her appreciation for the 38-year-old taking time out of her day to speak with her. “I just wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to you, the duchess and the whole team at Smart Works for making this possible for women all around the U.K., because to see such work is truly inspiring and uplifting.”

Smart Works also revealed an official statement from Markle on Twitter.

“It’s been such an honour to meet and learn from so many talented women in the Smart Works network over the years, and recently to see the amazing work they’re doing to adapt their programs to the reality of this pandemic,” part of the statement reads.

“Their ability to continue to empower women and help them harness the confidence they need to succeed during this time is inspiring.”

We could use a Meghan Markle pep talk for our next big interview.
